Quickest way to transfer from JFK to Newark Airport

Quickest way to transfer from JFK to Newark Airport?
I will soon be flying from Tampa to JFK connecting to a Newark flight to Zurich. I want to ask if i can realistically make the flight within 3 hours time. What is the fastest way to do this? OK.. I will be landing at JFK at around 630PM and the flight is at 1055PM. I dont have my own car. So maybe i'll take the Olympic airporter?

It totally depends on what time specifically your going to do this. If you travel between midnight to 6am you can do it easily with plenty of time to spare If you travel between 6am and 10am I think you might hit massive traffic depending on the month and day of the week. so since I don't know this important info I'd say it's impossible 10am to 3pm you will be able to do it with an experienced cab driver who knows the belt parkway and NJ route 78 3pm to 7pm forget impossible no matter what 7pm till midnight yes not gonna be easy but you can do it with the right driver The fastest way from JFK to Newark liberty is to take the belt pkwy west to the verranzano bridge then take the Staten island expressway to the Bayonne bridge then take 440 north to the NJ turnpike heading west that takes you straight up to the airport. total time to do this trip without traffic 45 minutes tops. Hope this helps

See all your options here: http://www.panynj.gov/aviation/connmainjfk.htm Will you'll make it in 2 hours (remember, you have pass through security)? It's really tough. Normally it's about 50 minutes to 90 minutes drive, but once it took me about 3 hours (in the opposite direction). Airporter (bus) takes 90 minutes. Unfottunately, subway/PATH combination will probably take even longer. If you can, book an earlier flight

Since you're flying to Zurich, I'm guessing your transfer is in the late afternoon, meaning possibly rush hour. A cab could conceivably be the fastest, but it will also be the most expensive, probably 100 bucks after all is said and done. You can take the JFK Air Train to Jamaica, transfer to the LIRR to Penn, (or there's a subway) then take Jersey transit to the Newark Airport Station, where you get on another Air Train to take you to your terminal. That's actually faster than the bus and taxi, and not liable to rush hour traffic as much, but it's not so easy with the luggage you'll have and lack of experience doing it. Why did you book your ticket that way? Did you use a travel agent? They should be shot if they recommended that routing, but I'm guessing you did it on your own to save money. There are non-stops from Tampa to Newark on Continental, who is the non-stop carrier to Zurich. Are you on Delta to JFK or Jet Blue? Remember, you're going to have to claim your bags at JFK, will take a while. If you're on Delta, you may be able to switch your ticket to Newark for a fee that would be equal to the amount you're going to pay for the ground transfer. Delta doesn't go non-stop to Newark, but even connection in Atlanta may be worth it, and you bags can be checked all the way to Zurich so you don't have to worry about them. If you're on Jet Blue the only thing you could do is bank the ticket (less 25.00) for future use and buy a new ticket to Newark. I suppose the Airport transfer bus that the other answers have links to is going to be your best bet, but it's no guarantee. Good luck.

The trains are the ONLY way to go, and are really not all that difficult. Road traffic will make it almosty impossible at that time of day - commuter traffic will still be heavy, and you'll have to get through Shea Stadium traffic as well.
