How long does it take to catch a connecting flight at Newark Airport

How long does it take to catch a connecting flight at Newark Airport?
I was wondering if anybody can help me out. I have a flight from Toronto to Newark, and Newark to Punta Cana. We have just under an hour, I was wondering if anybody knows if this is enough time to change. Thanks in advance

Yeah, that is enough time. If you have to change terminals, then you might have to rush because it takes a little bit to go from terminal to terminal. And by the time you get there, they might start boarding.

Toronto to Newark is an international flight. I think you probably have to go through customs and immigration. In which case, less than an hour is not enough, since going through customs involves retrieving your baggage, going through the customs procedures, and then re-checking your baggage. Call the customer service line for your airline and find out whether this is the case.

Continental has a lot of gates in Newark and also your flight being international from Canada will require more than a 1 hour connection. Also know that flights into Newark are sometimes congested because the New York air space is one of the most congested in the world.
